The Madison Theater – designed by Charlie Howard Crane in the 1920’s to spearhead the showing of the newly popular “movies” rather than vaudeville style shows.

Originally a classic design, it was defaced numerous times before being gutted. In its final version, it will become a bar or something. The Madison has languished in architectural purgatory for several years now, hovering on the brink of several projects that never seemed to come to fruition.

Heres some shots of the remaining marquee, and the stripped interior prior to being recently refurbished.

My mother and father-in-law had their first date at this theater.
