West Hall (Engineering) leading to the Diag

Here is the University of Michigan “M” – this is the equivalent of Michigan States “Sparty” statue.

From Wikipedia:

The university was founded in 1817 in Detroit as the Catholepistemiad, or University of Michigania, about 20 years before the Michigan Territory officially became a state.

  • Thanx Paul.

Yes, readers occasionally donate via the PayPal button in the left side column.

  • Great photos dfunk, I look forward to seeing the post on the towers. And I hope someone is paying you for all this work. ;)

  • Hey Paul –

Yes, that is the Burton Tower just past the Diag. The “two towers” will get their own post coming up. The North Campus one is even more tripped out !

  • Is that the Burton Tower in the background of the first and last photos? I visited the U of M campus two years ago and thought it was such an odd and interesting looking building.

  • Today I added additional Diag photos that came in late.

  • Kewl – thanks for the heads up, I missed a line of code for the PDF – thats fixed now.

Glad you like the A2 stuff !

  • I get a 404error on trying to DL the PDF.

I like this series you have been doing, all my years in MI and I never even knew how nice these buildings are.

    Good stuff !
