all who wander are not lost

The Big V.D.

Van Dyke Avenue- that is.

“Why the hell is he crawling around in toxic waste sites??” you may be asking yourself. Well this is actually nestled within a neighborhood – next to houses and near (what used to be) a pubic school building. I could never figure this one out – it looks all official with its sign and what not.

  • Hello,

I was driving down van dyke a while back (at night)and drove past that toddler and infant clothing store, and it freaked me out. Isn’t there a huge clown face painted on the front of it.

Anyway, do you know if there is a viable business operating out of it? It just caught my imagination and was wondering what the story was.

    -Thanks and Great Site!

  • Man! I grew up in Detroit. Haven’t been back for 14 years.
No one back home can understand it when I say I love where I live now , (Las Vegas) because everything is new.
I have almost forgotten how much plight exists in such a proud city that was at one time the center of the industrialized world in the 70’s.
Such a waste of great architecture.

    Love your site, thanks.
