all who wander are not lost

Click HERE to see these two houses on Sibley before the fire…

And click HERE to see them after.

[detroitfunk contributor Tim adds: “That fire happened on Saturday February 28th, 2009, and was still smouldering on Sunday morning. My girlfriend and I were in Windsor for a dinner on Saturday night, and then drove by the icicle covered trees and smouldering house on Sunday morning.”]

  • Thanks for link. Nice shot. A few years ago driving in the country in the early morning I saw hundreds of spiderwebs just like that suspended between two lines on telephone poles that ran for miles. Talk about an invisible world!

The edit feature would be nice, if possible.

  • Heres the spider web, over looking the Huron in Ypsi.

    last photo.

Ill look to see if I can add “edit” function to regular readers.

  • I should have known…I was looking for the “dew laden spiderweb” tags, lol.

  • Ive shot plenty of barbed wire and even dew laden spiderwebs – just usually not together.

  • Hmmm…are you looking for an artistic rabbit hole to go down in? How about sniffing out different locations of “urban ivy” under different conditions? I have taken some (in my mind) beautiful pics of barbed wire with dew-laden cobwebs interlaced on them.

  • Yeah Kahnmann, it is…I started doing the usual mug shots, and it ended up being a real impressionistic set of pics, that strange beauty thing.

  • Ya know, that razor wire is actually beautiful looking urban ivy…

  • that view in the first pic is from Fox garage.

  • Thanks for filling in the story, Tim – I put that in the main post. And yes, the house next to it is intact, and at the very least has people tending to it. Not sure if they live there, but people were there and going in and out while I was taking photos walking along Sibley and through the alley.

These houses are bookend mirrors of each other and I think the one on the left is still intact, if i’m not mistaken.
