all who wander are not lost

First Presbyterian Church 1825 – I had a couple pictures of the lions from this porch the other day – I went back for more details cause its kinda neat. Designed by Mason and Rice in 1889 in high Richardsonian Romanesque.

Currently this is the home of the Ecumenical Theological Society.

My favorite detail is this little dragon dude..

All these details are hand carved, you cant mold sandstone and theres no short-cuts. Imagine the cost of rendering this material today. It would be incalculable.

  • Imagine finding craftsmen to do it…it’s a beautiful building.
Thanks for revealing the beauty of Detroit.
I’ve been there, never seen what you show.
