all who wander are not lost

This is Danielle Stislicki. The story of her disappearance is pretty much everybody’s archetypal nightmare. On December 2nd Danielle got permission to leave work early from Met Life at 10 Mile Road and Telegraph Road in Southfield, Michigan around 5:00 P.M. This was the last anybody has seen her. Dani was leaving early to meet up with her friend for dinner, and told her that she was okay to leave work early, and was stopping at home to grab a bag. Danielle never called or showed up so her friend called her cell which went straight to voicemail. The friend assumed Danielle was exhausted from work and must have fallen fast asleep at home. Saturday morning Danielle was a no-show at Met Life, which is completely uncharacteristic of her. She is described by friends, family and her employer as always reliable.

The friend began to worry on Saturday, December 3rd when the phone was still on voicemail, and went to Danielle’s apartment in Farmington Hills at 10 Mile Road and Halsted at 6 P.M. When she got to Independence Green Apartments, she found Dani’s black 4X4 Jeep in it’s usual parking spot, literally a few feet from the door to the building. Danielle’s parents were called, and then the Farmington Hills police were brought to the scene.

They discovered that Danielle’s purse, wallet, drivers license, credit cards and personal items were locked inside the Jeep. Missing were her keys, and her cell phone. There was no sign of a struggle or tampering. Their best guess was that the apartment was not ransacked or robbed. Danielle’s cat Adelaide was still inside the apartment. The following day on Sunday December 4th, police began a full area search and canvased the surrounding apartment residents. The Michigan State Police searched with their helicopter from the air. Friends and family and police covered the entire area and were not successful in locating Danielle or any clue as to her whereabouts. Farmington Hills police along with various other local departments combined with Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency are now all involved in the search for Danielle.
