Well it is that time of the year again in Detroit – “Devil’s Night“. Happy Halloween everybody.
Devil’s Night is an annual tradition in Detroit where the Nain Rouge is loosed on the City for several nights, unleashing a torrent of arson fires and insurance fraud. Locals have renamed the horrible tradition “Angel’s Night”, and many volunteers try to quell the flames via citizen patrols.
In the meantime, I continue to enjoy this time of the year in the City while the fleeting autumn days last. I adore when autumn puts a crisp snap in the air at night, the trees are a blaze with colorful leaves, and the tumbleweaves blow gently down Jefferson Avenue.
One last glimpse at the beautiful urban garden wildflowers before everything goes to sleep.
Winter is coming.
