Well it is that time of the year again in Detroit – “Devil’s Night“. Happy Halloween everybody.

Devil’s Night is an annual tradition in Detroit where the Nain Rouge is loosed on the City for several nights, unleashing a torrent of arson fires and insurance fraud. Locals have renamed the horrible tradition “Angel’s Night”, and many volunteers try to quell the flames via citizen patrols. Nailhed usually participates in these.

In the meantime, I continue to enjoy this time of the year in the City while the fleeting autumn days last. I adore when autumn puts a crisp snap in the air at night, the trees are a blaze with colorful leaves, and the tumblewaves blow gently down Jefferson Avenue.

One last glimpse at the beautiful urban garden wildflowers before everything goes to sleep.

Winter is coming.
