[detroitfunk reader Eastside Al adds: “I believe it was originally built as a charging garage for electric cars by the Anderson Carriage Co., the forerunner of the Detroit Electric Car Co. According to later maps it was then used as a chassis warehouse by King Motor Car, which was the company founded by Charles B. King the first person to drive a car in Detroit (3 weeks before Henry Ford), and one of the pioneers of the 8 cylinder engine.”]
